The Federation of Asia-Pacific Philosophy in Schools Associations is the peak body for philosophy teachers in the Asia-Pacific region. We are a member organisation of the International Council of Philosophy with Children (ICPIC), whose principles and values guide our work.

We develop the standards and courses for teachers to teach Philosophy in the Classroom (P4C) across Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore. Through professional development and advocacy initiatives, F.A.P.S.A. seeks to enrich and expand philosophy education in primary and secondary schools across our regions.

What is P4C?

Philosophy for Children is a worldwide movement that applies the skills of philosophy, such a reasoning, critical thinking and ethical thinking to all educational settings. P4C teachers also bring the lessons of the different schools of philosophy to their classrooms to enrich the entire curriculum. Students are empowered through dialogue and challenged to think more critically and effectively. P4C is a powerful pedagogy that can benefit every classroom.
